Tour Level: Moderate – for walking at attractions and entertainment venues and getting around the large hotel.
A fall visit to the city of Windsor, an incredible community that offers world class entertainment, a fascinating historical area & cultural landmarks, with unparalleled waterfront parks to explore, and pretty countryside.
Sunday, September 14th – We depart Walmart parking lot at 8:00 am and make our way to "Windsor" via Michigan. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel, the beautiful “Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino”. Your daily casino package includes a $15.00 food voucher for breakfast plus $10.00 slot play. When the entertainment is announced for this evening (or during the week) we will try and build an entertainment package you may want to add to your visit. (Not included)

Monday, September 15th – Today we will travel to the charming town of “Amherstburg”, rich in Canadian History, located along the shore of the Detroit River. We will have a visit to “Fort Malden National Historic Park” site for a tour which includes the “Firing of the Guns”. We will have a short visit with a guided tour to the “Amherstburg Freedom Museum”. We will travel back to Windsor for a lunch cruise with “Premier Cruises” down the Detroit River from the casino to the “Gordie Howe Bridge”. We will explore the “Dieppe Gardens” while here with its ponds, memorials, and colourful summer flowers. Then another short drive to explore the “Windsor Sculpture Park” as well, before going back to the hotel.

Tuesday, September 16th – Breakfast is on your own with your voucher at Caesars Windsor Hotel. This morning, in Windsor we will have a visit to the “Historical Francois Baby House” and the “Chimczuk Museum” with an introduction, & then with time to explore on your own. We will break for lunch on your own. In the afternoon we will drive into the “Amherstburg” area again for a visit along the water at the “Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery” for a unique “Chocolate & Cheese Wine Pairing” tasting and talk in their beautiful stately building. As we return to our Windsor home, we will have a short drive through the countryside to the “Wolfhead Distillery” for a tasting and tour to set us up for our adventures the next day. Tonight, we will have some special dinner plans to be announced later once arrangements have been made.

Wed September 17th – Today after breakfast, we will enjoy aboard our coach a “Step on Guided Tour" that will bring us back to Windsor’s colourful prohibition days of the 1920’s when Windsor was a main supplier of illegal liquor to the likes of Al Capone and other mobsters on the “Rum Runners Tour” which includes a delicious buffet lunch with entertainment. To add to our morning history lesson, we can afterwards travel to “J.P. Wieser’s (Hiram Walker & Sons) Experience Store” or the “Walkerville Brewery Store”.

Thurs September 18th - Breakfast is on your own this morning with your voucher. Today we will make our way home with stops enroute for breaks. An early evening arrival home is planned.
