Tour level: Active – capable of walking fair distances at a reasonable pace, negotiate stairs easily, on uneven European terrain, and to quickly navigate through airports.
Thursday, March 26th – We will meet at the Sault Ste. Marie International Airport at 5:00 am. Our Air Canada flight # 8198 departs Sault Ste. Marie at 6:00 am arriving Toronto at 7:22 am and then connect to Air Canada flight #814 leaving Toronto at 2:00 pm for Montreal arriving at 3:18 pm. Our overnight flight Air Canada #812 will leave at 10:30 pm and is scheduled to arrive in Lisbon at 9:20 am on March 27th. (Times are subject to changes)

Friday, March 27th - We will meet an Insight Representative at the Airport for our Transfer to our Hotel in Lisbon. Please note we will arrive before check-in, so a little time on your own upon arrival. This evening, we meet our Insight Tour Director and fellow Insight Passengers at a Welcome Dinner.

Saturday, March 28th - Today we join a local expert to see the highlights of the city of Lisbon, exploring the lower town, the Belem Quarter & visiting Jeronimo’s Monastery. At the end of the day have some leisure time or take in the Optional Dinner Experience.

Sunday, March 29th - Today we travel to the sun-drenched southern Algarve coast to Lagos, a fishing village on the bay of Meia Praia. There is free time to first explore the city and then free time to explore the many things within walking distance of our resort for our overnight.

Monday, March 30th - Our travels today take us to the walled city of Evora, where we will overnight. With a visit to the Capela dos Ossos Chapel. We will explore first this UNESCO world heritage city with a local expert with free time to enjoy the city on your own or take in an optional Cork Factory Visit here.

Tuesday, March 31st - Today we travel to the striking white village of Monsaraz, situated on an imposing hilltop surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. We will enjoy a leisurely cruise on the tranquil waters of Lake Alqueva. We will have a highlight lunch at what was once an olive mill. We return to our Evora hotel for our overnight with the evening at leisure to continue to explore.

Wednesday, April 01st – This morning, we travel to Coimbra to join a “Make Travel Matter” experience as we visit Casa Relvas for a wine tasting. We continue to Tomar to visit the Templar Castle and Convent of Christ, a UNESCO Heritage sight. We also visit the medieval
Synague of Tomar. Journey for the day ends in Tomar for dinner and our overnight.

Thursday, April 02nd – Today our adventure continues to the old town of Coimbra, a UNESCO World heritage site, where we will explore the highlights with a Local Expert. Then we journey on through the lush countryside to Douro River, enjoy a wonderful Farm to Table meal.

Friday, April 03rd – Today we journey to Guimaraes to admire the views of the historic city from the ruined castle. We continue to travel to Porto. Here Insight offers a couple of choices for exploring during the day. In the evening after we arrive at our hotel for the night, there is an optional experience to cruise on a traditional Rabelo boat. Finish the evening with dinner on your own perhaps in the comfort of the riverside restaurant at the hotel where we overnight.

Saturday, April 04th - Enjoy a full day in Portugal at your own pace, in Porto, taking in the multicolored houses and churches covered in beautiful, glazed tile or take in the optional excursion to Braga, the capital of Baroque.

Sunday, April 05th – On our last full day in Portugal, at we travel to the pilgrimage place Fatima to explore the basilica. We journey to the fortified town of Obidos and walk within its walls and our travels take us back to the capital of Portugal to Lisbon for our last overnight for a delightful dinner

Monday, April 06th –After breakfast we will depart for the Lisbon Airport on AC flight #811 from Lisbon at 12:50pm arriving in Toronto at 4:05pm connecting to AC flight #8205 departing Toronto at 8:30 pm arrive Sault Ste. Marie at 9:57 pm.
