We are excited to offer Soo-ites an opportunity to explore the highlights of the Romantic Country of Italy. Explore the culture and history of this European Country near & dear to our hearts. We will explore leisurely Rome a treasure trove of art dotted with parks, and embellished with archaeological remains, sculptures, ponds, fountains. Florence is known for its culture, Renaissance art and architecture, monuments and food & wine. Venice an island city, it was once the centre of the maritime republic. It was the greatest seaport in late medieval Europe.
Tour level: Active – capable of keeping up with a group walking distance at a reasonable pace, negotiate stairs easily, on uneven European terrain, and to navigate through airports.
Saturday, March 28th – We will meet at the Sault Ste Marie Airport for our departure flight at 4:15 am. We will travel on Air Canada FLT #8198 from Sault Ste Marie at 5:45 am arrive in Toronto 7:04 am. We will depart Toronto today on LH FLT# 471 at 7:15pm arrive in Frankfurt on March 29th at 8:55 am.

Sunday, March 29th – In Frankfurt today, we connect on AZ FLT # 403 at 11:40 am and arrive in Rome at 1:40 pm. Upon arrival in Rome, we will be met by an Insight Representative at the Airport for our Transfer to our Hotel for check in. Welcome to the Eternal city of Rome, Relax and settle into this glorious City, before joining your Insight Travel Director and getting to know your fellow travellers over a delicious dinner with wine.

Monday, March 30th – Today experience the grandeur of ancient Rome with your local expert. Enjoy fast-tracked entry into the Vatican Museums including St Peter’s Basilica. Later, see the incredible Circus Maximus, famous for its chariot races, and visit the iconic Colosseum.

Tuesday, March 31st – Today you explore Rome at your own pace. Stay in the city strolling the street in the shopping areas of Via del Corso or Via Nazionale or near the Spanish Steps. Venture away from the city on an optional experience south to the ill-fated town of Pompeii, buried in 79 AD by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius.

Wednesday April 01st - Today we move on, driving though rolling hills of Umbria, passing medieval hilltop towns perched like crown jewels overlooking the valleys below. Journey to the Chianti Hills and into the city of Florence. We will explore on foot to see iconic artistic pieces and statues and enjoy a typical Italian treat in a café with your Tour Director for an exciting afternoon. An option for Dinner is at the Villa Machiavelli for a Tuscan Dinner or a Tuscan Dinner & Cooking Demonstration, space is limited.

Thursday, April 02nd - Many sites and activities to do this day in Florence and in the area admiring the leather & goldsmith art. Visit the medieval towers of San Gimgnano with an optional excursion. Dine with your fellow travelling companions tonight.

Good Friday, April 03rd – After a leisurely morning in Florence, we explore the nearby town of Pisa with a local expert to see the Leaning Tower. After taking in the beautiful views of the rolling Tuscan hills, enjoy tasting the farm’s fine wines and olive oil, in addition to an authentic Italian meal prepared with locally sourced ingredients.

Saturday, April 04th - Today our adventure continues with travel through the Emilia-Romagna region to Venice. Learn about the Italian food culture over a delicious, included lunch with wine. In Venice your luxurious hotel has elegant Venetian touches and views over an unforgettably romantic city.

Easter Sunday, April 05th – Today we take a private boat on an excursion past historic churches and the 13th century palaces to St Mark's Square. Join a “MAKE TRAVEL MATTER” optional experience during a visit to a traditional arts center where you will see where beautiful, handcrafted glass is made by expert glassblowers, safeguarding traditional skills. This afternoon, visit museums, galleries, churches, or shop near the Rialto Bridge.

Monday, April 06th - Enjoy a full day in Venice exploring the many treasures well known in the city. This evening, indulge in traditional Venetian dishes that are enriched with inspiration from seasonal produce.

Tuesday, April 07th –Arrivederci Italy! After breakfast we will transfer to the Venice Airport for check in. We will travel on LH FLT #325 from Venice at 10:55 am arriving in Frankfurt at 12:25 pm connecting to LH FLT # 470 departing Frankfurt at 2:00 pm arrive in Toronto at 4:20 pm. Then leave Toronto on AC FLT# 8205 departing at 8:30 pm and back into the Sault Ste Marie at 9:54 pm

Insight Optional Experiences:
Most Insight tours already include a host of bonus highlights and comprehensive sightseeing. There is also an exciting array of optional experiences available to you. These tours are entirely optional and can be booked and paid for through your Insight Travel Director at the commencement of our trip.
The tour package includes airfare via Air Canada (schedule subject to change; group seat selection only, with no upgrades permitted), as well as sightseeing, meals, and additional inclusions in accordance with Insight’s official website description as of October 2025. All components are subject to modification. The tour will be fully escorted by a Sunshine Travel Club Tour Director. Prepaid gratuities for both the Insight Tour Director and Driver are included.
Medical, Cancellation & Trip Interruption Insurance protection is recommended, but not included. Coverage can be purchased separately through an insurance provider of choice or through Insight Vacations with Manulife.
