"CELEBRATE NHL HOCKEY & WINTERLUDE IN OTTAWA"
January 27th – February 01st, 2026
Tour Level: Active – involves walking, stairs at venues, and outdoor winter exploring.
The National Capital Region offers, unique outdoor activities with the celebration of Winterlude and cozy indoor activities, including 2 NHL games. This holiday aims to brighten up this dreary time of the year.
Tuesday, January 27th - We leave Walmart Parking Lot 8:00am and travel to Kanata, where we will stay for 2 nights. A “Welcome” buffet dinner at the Mandarin is included.

Wednesday, January 28th - Today you have lots of free time to explore. Stay warm indoors and relax at the pool at the hotel or visit with friends and family for lunch. After an early dinner on your own, we head to the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata for an evening game to watch the NHL’s Ottawa Senators take on the Colorado Avalanche in first level seats.

Thursday, January 29th - After checking out of our Kanata hotel, we move into downtown Ottawa. Our next stop will be The Mill Street Brewery for a tour including lunch. From there, we visit the Royal Canadian Mint, which proudly produces world-renowned collector coins, gold and silver bullion, and medals and medallions. After our visit, we check into our Byward Market hotel for our 2-night stay. Once we’re settled, we will head out in the early evening to try our luck at the Hard Rock Casino Ottawa with dinner on your own.

Friday, January 30th - This morning we will visit the highly acclaimed Canadian Museum of Nature including lunch. After lunch we head over to Chelsea Quebec for a tour of the Distillerie du Square for a tour and tasting at their facility, then back downtown to take in the opening evening activities of Winterlude – one of Canada’s premier winter Festivals. You will have a chance to stroll Sparks Street and take in the opening ceremonies for Winterlude. Dinner is on your own.

Saturday, January 31st - After enjoying our breakfast this morning, we will browse around and explore the Byward Market, before checking out of our hotel. Afterward, we are making a stop for some shopping and lunch on your own at the Bayshore Shopping Centre on route to Kanata, for a 1-night stay. This evening, we will take in another exciting NHL hockey game at the Canadian Tire Centre where the Ottawa Senators battle the New Jersey Devils. This will be a fun experience at The Ledge where we will have dinner and watch the game from a different perspective, a view that covers the entire arena.

Sunday, February 1st - Today we return home with the usual breaks along the way. A mid evening arrival in the Sault is expected.
