Ottawa has charm any time of the year, but especially during tulip season. Enjoy, along with the Hallmark famed “movie town” of Almonte. Join us for glimpses of these two colourful towns in the springtime.
Tour Level: Active – Full day of activity, walking to explore museums and gardens, but always with rest areas if you do not want to participate in everything.
Monday May 13th – We will depart from Walmart North Parking Lot at 8:00 am. With stops along the way as we make our way to Pembroke for our first overnight and a rest. We will have time to explore the downtown murals with our dinner excursion.

Tuesday May 14th – We will begin our excursion visiting the “Diefenbunker Canada Cold War Museum”, a four storey underground concrete bunker, Canada’s response to the Cold War. And then a short drive to visit the charming Hallmark Christmas movie filming town of Almonte. We will include lunch in Almonte and have time for exploring. We then drive to Kanata for our stay the next 2 nights. You can decide to stay around the hotel for dinner on your own. As well we can offer an excursion for some shopping with dinner on your own this evening.

Wednesday May 15th - After breakfast we will travel to the city of Ottawa and begin our visit with Parliament Building Tour. We will then go to the Byward Market or Rideau Mall for Lunch on your own and in the afternoon visit of the Commissioners Park and with a little walk the Dow’s Lake which features the largest tulip display, and then take a boat cruise on the Rideau Canal, to get this unique view of Ottawa’s historical landmarks and homes. We will include a dinner, before heading back to our hotel in Kanata.

Thursday May 16th – Today we will make the drive home with breaks along the way, with a planned arrival home in the evening.

Tour includes: Deluxe motorcoach transportation with Wi-Fi service where available, fully escorted with a Sunshine Travel Club Tour Director, 3 nights accommodation, 5 meals as stated. Parliament Building Tour, and Rideau Canal Cruise Ticket.
